The apartment is on Commonside in Sheffield S10 — the western side of the city, in the same district as the university's western campus and the Glossop Road area. It is a residential neighbourhood with cafés, shops and pubs nearby, which makes a pleasant place to come back to after a day on campus.

Explore Sheffield & the Peak District
S10 is a good side of the city to be based on. The Botanical Gardens, the Endcliffe and Porter Valley parks and a string of independent cafés and pubs are all in this part of Sheffield, and the walk down the valley is one of the better ways to spend a free morning.
The city centre, the theatres and the train station are reachable by bus or car, and the Peak District National Park lies just west of the city — close enough that a visiting family can spend an afternoon in the hills and be back for dinner.
For guests here on a longer visit that mix tends to be the point: a working base in a real neighbourhood, with a national park on the doorstep.

Are there any steps or low ceilings?
One of the bedrooms is accessed under a characterful low beam (173 cm). The rest of the apartment has normal head height. The apartment has a few small steps and a raised threshold into one of the bedrooms, which add to the character and cosy feel of this unique lower-ground apartment. The apartment is in a converted building, with stairs between floors, split levels and low beams.
